The Security We Touch:
Mobile apps, permissions, and understanding.
This talk will explore the development of mobile application privacy and security over the past five years, with a focus on permission displays and user understanding. It will cover my own research, as well as others in the community. It will highlight the repeated big issues and demonstrate how we continue to push for similar solutions. Thus far, all these solutions have ended up being overly complicated for users or unacceptable for large companies. It will conclude with a possible route forward.
